GRIT is dedicated to offering a fantastic private party created just for you.  We want the party to be a stress-free experience that creates lasting memories for you and your family. 

GRIT's BIRTHDAY BASH private party package includes:

• 90-minute private party @ GRIT  ( additional time if you wish*)

• 1 hour on the course/gym, followed by 30 minutes to celebrate

• Up to 15 participants plus the birthday child ( add more if you want*)

• Two Incredible GRIT coaches ready to make your party the best ever!

• Drinks for the kids, paper goods, silverware, tablecloths, tables & chairs & balloons!  

• As many adult guests as you wish!

• BYOB Food & Drink or hire GRIT to cater it for you*

Or book a GRIT UlTIMATE Birthday Party which includes:

•  2 hour private party @ GRIT (additional time can be added*) 

• 1. 5 hours on the course/gym, followed by 30 minutes to celebrate

• Up to 20 particpants plus the birthday child ( add more if you want*)

• Two Incredible GRIT coaches ready to make this the ULTIMATE birthday ever!

• Drinks for the kids, paper goods, silverware, tablecloths, tables & chairs & balloons!

• As many adult guests as you wish!

• BYOB Food and Drink or hire GRIT to cater for you*

Our coaches will start setting up your Private Party about  15 minutes before the scheduled start time, so feel free to arrive 15 minutes prior to your party start.   Please dont arrive earlier without prior approval as GRIT may not be ready due to another party occurring before yours.

GRIT is located in a residential neighborhood with ample street parking available using the ParkMobile app.  Parking is only a $1 a hour and free on Sundays.  For those that want to park in a lot,  Edison Park, located behind City Hall is the closest pay parking lot being only 2.5 blocks away. 

Gratuity is not included for your private party.   Our coaches know how to party and will be there to help you set up, clean up afterwards and most importantly... have FUN!  Blow out the candles and clean up so you can focus on your child having the best party ever!   We encourage providing a tip to the coaches directly at the end of the party or we can add it to your bill if you wish.  A minimum tip of $25 for each coach for a Birthday BASH and $35 for a ULTIMATE Birthday party is required ( less than 10% of the cost of your party rental) .  Your coaches will be working hard to make sure your party is a success.   Please tip them accordingly. 

This is your private party @ GRIT.  You can bring your own food, drinks, cake and decorations or you can hire GRIT to do everything for you!  We want you to have a great time!  And remember to ask about our "Out of Order" Fridge! 

This is your private party!   Bring your own pizza, food and drinks or hire GRIT to do it for you.  We know that Jersey City has some pretty good pizza shops. We are not in the food business and don't want to be:) 

GRIT has a fridge/freezer to keep your ice cream or regular cake ready until your ready to blow out the candles.  

Yes, of course, this is your party!  

Yes, if you would like to bring your own decorations or themed decorations, plates, and napkins with a paid birthday party, you are more than welcome to do so! We will start setting up your Private Party 15 minutes before the scheduled start time, so feel free to arrive around that time. If you arrive any earlier GRIT not be ready due to another party occurring before yours.  But dont worry!  We are pros at setting up parties.  We have a staging room next to the main gym that you can put your decorations, food etc. on the day of the party.  

We encourage you to bring drinks for the adults and kids.  Remember its your private party! 

Yes, as your guests enter GRIT there will be a special table for your guests to put your child's birthday gifts on. 

CANCELLATION POLICY

If you cancel the event with less than thirty day's notice, then you waive the right to the deposit but you will not owe anything further for the cancelled event if we are able to schedule an event in your place. If we are not able to schedule another birthday party in the slot you canceled then you authorize us to charge your credit card for the full amount of the event.

If you cancel the event with more than a thirty day's notice, then, so long as you reschedule the event to occur within 30 days of the originally scheduled event, then we will apply the deposit to the cost of the event.

If you no-show the event or cancel within 20 days, then you waive the right to recover the deposit and authorize us to charge your credit card for the full amount of the event.

If you walk out on the event prior to payment, then you waive the right to recover the deposit and authorize us to charge your credit card for the full amount of the event.

If an Act of God or weather event causes GRIT to close, your party will be rescheduled. No refunds are provided for an Act of God or weather event.

GRIT is known for its gym and our incredible coaches.   For your party you can pick up to two activities for your party such as: 

• Parkour/ Obstacle Course Racing

• Dodgeball

• Chase Tag

• Among Us!

• Nerf Gun Battles

• Tug of War ( a crowd favorite) 

• And much more…

Nope!  Why would we count the Birthday Child?  You are here to have fun.  Our base package is for " up to 15 participants"  PLUS the Birthday Child.   A participant is any child who actively is involved in the games and activities run by the coaches.  We DO NOT charge for parents, grandparents or friends to stay and watch nor do we charge for babies and toddlers who attend but do not participate.

Want to add more participants.  No sweat!  We are happy to accommodate ( additional fees apply) 

Extra Participant refers to any child who attends the party and participates in activities run by the coaches.   Extra participants will be added to your final bill which we will send you once the party is over. 

Yes... as long as they do not participate in the activities run by the coaches. 

No but we are working on it.  We will have them later this fall :)

We recommend that parents sign waivers for their children on our website in advance so that it will automatically be in our system when they arrive.  A signed wavier is required to participate or enter GRIT.  Waivers only need to be signed one time.  You can find the " Sign the Waiver" at the bottom of the GRIT website.   Please note that waivers filled out incompletely will delay your child's time at the party as each waiver will be checked prior to your child being allowed in the GRIT GYM.

Unfortunately we cannot pencil in a date without a deposit of $250 to hold the spot. However as soon as you are ready to book, you can reach out on the GRIT Party Hotline at 201.596.6626 (text/call) and we will help you secure your preferred date. 

After participants checked in (and we have checked that they have signed the GRIT Waiver) they will be organized by our fantastic coaches into a series of activities in the GRIT Gym which will last approximately an hour.  The kids will then take a group picture and then settle down for food and cake.  Parties are 1.5 hours in length. You will have your GRIT to yourself during this entire time.   We can provide extra time if requested in advance (and no other parties are booked) for an additional fee. 

Two GRIT coaches will guide your entire Party. From check-in to clean-up our coaches know how to throw a party that kids love!    They will run activities that make everyone, parents included have a fantastic time!

To ensure you get the time and date you prefer, we would recommend booking your party at least two months before.   GRIT is typically booked out a month in advance

GRITs provides up to three tables for your guests to eat at plus a serving table, cake table and a gift table.  The three eating tables are standard folding 30" by 80" tables. 

This is your private party.  We do not have a maximum but recommend no more than ~40= 50 people to keep the party feeling comfortable. If your party grows to larger than 40, we will request that you book an additional 30 minutes ( additional fees apply)  as the extra guests slow the pace of the party and clean up. 

No, but the Birthday child does get a GRIT T-Shirt! 

A $250.00* non-refundable deposit is required to reserve a private party. Deposits are applied to the remaining balance at the end of the event.  You can book a party any time online by clicking the BOOK A PARTY link at the top of the website or by contacting the GRIT Birthday Hotline at 201.596.6626 (text or call). 

Any child who participates of the private party activities in the gym will be counted as a "participant".   We understand that siblings may attend a party which is great.  If they participate in the activities in the gym then we will consider them to be a part of the party and counted as such. 

GRIT is filled with both foam and wooden obstacles.  It is not designed for children under 3.   While we allow younger children in the gym area they must be supervised by parents as our coaches are focused on delivering a great experience for the birthday and cannot be responsible for insuring a non-participants safety in the gym area. 

Private Parties are typically reserved for Friday Night, Saturday Afternoons and Sundays.  Saturday evenings can be booked when there is not a special event.   You can book a party any time online by clicking on the BOOK A PARTY link at the top of the website or by calling/texting the Birthday Hotline @ 201.596.6626.
